Experimental and numerical analysis of the sound radiation from a vibrating plate
In the paper experimental and numerical results of sound radiation from a vibrating plate are compared. Dynamic response and natural frequencies of clamped rectangular plate vibrations are determined numerically applying Virtual Work Principle on equation of bending vibration which is approximated by means of Fourier series expansion of orthogonal shape functions. Sound radiation in the form of acoustical pressures near the plate is determined numerically applying Rayleigh’ s integral formula on calculated velocities of infinitesimal areas of plate. Experimental model boundary conditions corresponds with numerical methods boundary conditions and consists of stationary and clamped plate edge and sound absorbing environment. Experimental results and numerical results of plate eigenvalues, plate dynamic response and sound radiation are in good agreement.
