Model Reference Adaptive Autopilots for Ships
Control structures applied to commercial available autopilots for ships based on model referencem adaptive control are presented. Model reference adaptive control system for identification has been determined in more detail by computer simulation. The obtained simulation results confirm that the model reference adaptive control, which originally was developed for deterministic systems can, with suitable adjustments, be applied to systems operating in extremely stochastic surrounding, such as ships.
