The main reason for setting forward academic EMPS study was an urge to educate skilled experts that will be able to interdisciplinary overlook of all problems of the environment, and propose adequate solutions for environmental quality control and pollution treatmen. There are serious gaps in graduate and postgraduate education in this field in Croatia, so this EMPS study program represents a perfect and appropriate solution to a need for organizing this type of study.
