The students' attitude towards the use of information technologies in the teaching process
Following the development of information technologies, a strong attempt has been made over the last 10 years to adapt both syllabi and teaching methods to the new trends in the LIS education. These changes could be ascertained especially in the teaching process of the Library Organisation and Management which is one of the core courses in the programmes of the Chair of Librarianship (Department of Information Sciences, Faculty of Philosophy, Zagreb). In spite of the lack of educational software and permanently suffering from equipment shortages, a significant development has been achieved. A number of positive changes have been made, some of them through the access to the Internet. A survey has been made to evaluate the students attitude towards course material and all teaching formats/aids used in the course Library Organisation and Management in the academic year 1995/1996. The obtained results helped us get an idea of the direction in which we are going to proceed in developing our teaching methods.
