Field research of the recent and fossil malacofauna on the island of Susak (Croatia) discovered 45 species of land snails. Recent endemic snail Truncatellina velkovrhi was found too. The malacofauna which has existed on Susak from the Upper Pleistocene till the present times is in its ecological features mainly steppe fauna adapted to a variety of climatic conditions. Results confirmed recent exchange of almost of malacofauna. An analysis of fossil malacofauna has indicated the Upper Pleistocene origin of the sand deposits. The youngest sequence belongs to the late ice age, i.e. Dryas.
