Comparison Of Feedwater Pump Behavior When Operated By Control Coupling Or Voltage And Frequency Converter
The dynamic mathematical models of a feedwater pump system operated by a control coupling or a voltage and frequency converter are presented. Model responses to reference flow signal, which corresponds to actual operating conditions in a steam power plant, were obtained by computer simulation. Comparison of the two models indicated that both systems exhibited satisfactory speed with respect to the rate of reference signal change and provided satisfactory responses when the same control strategy was employed, the main differences being different electrical energy consumption.
