Design of a Fresh Water Supply-Control System

The design of a fresh water supply control system allowing automatic output pressure stabilization is presented. The procedure for determining the minimum number of controlled pumps ensuring continuous water supply modification, which is the basic condition for maintaining stable output pressure, is described. A method of water level control for low-water condition wells is proposed. Pump speed control is accomplished by means of controlled motor drives with voltage and frequency converter supplied squirrel cage induction motors. The feasibility of the proposed fresh water supply control system was tested by computer simulation.
