Although Montenegro was completely worn out military, economically and demographically after two Balkan Wars, Montenegrin king Nikola declared general mobilization the same day when Austro- Hungary declared war to Serbia. King Nikola died on March 1, 1921 in France. His death had a devastating effect on Montenegrin emigrants who quarrelled about his heritage
