R-mode factor and cluster analysis an efficient tool in recognition of man made and natural heavy metal distribution in the soils of Zagreb
Geochemical mapping of soils over the urban area encounters difficulties in the interpretation of natural and anthropogenic influences on the distribution of heavy metals. R-mode factor analysis and cluster as efficient tools distinguished two groups of heavy metals; one , statistical affected by bedrock geochemistry and another with pollution, carried by suspended matter of the Sava river waters, sedimentation on the flooded alluvial plains. The factor 1, effecting Mn, Cr, Fe, and Ni is an influence of bedrock on soil geochemistry, primary fluviuosols and carbonate deficient soils. The factor 2, effects heavily Hg, les Pb and Zn along the Sava river flooded plains.
