Seismicity of Croatia
Paper presents the analysis of Croatian earthquake catalogue (CEC) for the period from 373 BC to 2004. The CEC is estimated to be complete for events with M_L ≥ 4.0 since 1900 and for events with M_L ≥ 3.2 for the last three decades. The coastal part of Croatia (the Dinarides) is the most seismically active, because of tectonic processes related to the collision of the Adriatic Platform and the Dinarides The northern part of Croatia (the Pannonian Basin) is characterized by rare occurrence of large earthquakes and thus being typical of intraplate seismicity.
