Towards High-power Metamaterial-based Scanning Leaky-wave Antenna for Plasma Physics Applications
This paper investigates feasibility of application of the principle of backward-forward scanning leaky-wave antenna for high-power applications in experimental plasma physics. The design based on well-known balanced CL-LC transmission line, modified in a way that allows high current density, was proposed and numerically analyzed using commercial full-wave solver. A scaled low-power laboratory model of leaky-wave antenna operating in 8 GHz band was manufactured and back-fire to end-fire scanning capability was confirmed experimentally.
