Correlation of Urine Metabolic Factors and Urinary Stones Composition
The formation of urinary stones represents an important social and medical problems because of its high recurrency rate. The urine itself is a complex solution very often supersaturated with regard to inorganic salts, which form urinary stones. Therefore, for successful medical treatment and prevention it is important to know the urinary and stone composition, as well as the physico-chemical parameters involved in the formation of urinary stones. Our aim in this study was to define risk factors for stone formation by using metabolic parameters and data on stone composition and applying known physico-chemical concepts previously used in investigations of simpler precipitation systems.
