NDT Methods in Landmines Detection
NDT is recognised as a vital part of the safe and efficient testing method whenever there is a possibility that unexpected defect may cause a failure to occur. Being aware of the great possibilities of detection of the discontinuities in various materials using a large variety of NDT methods, many scientists and experts try to implement NDT methods in mine detection, because mines are discontinuities in soil, sources of great danger and causes of damage. It is the most demanding case of NDT to be non-destructive under control. On the other side, there is less awareness of NDT community that development of methods and carrying out the work for detection of these dangerous discontinuities in the field of whatever kind they are belongs to NDT. In this paper the state-of-the-art in the field and an approach to that problem from the point of reliability are presented.
