Contribution to Tool Life Equation Determination
By the common way of tool life equation determination with the classical design of experiment and multiple regresion analysis for three independent variables, at least twelve tests are needed. In this paper, an equation that can accommodate the non-linear dependence of tool life on cutting conditions in the logarithmic plot is developed. By the proposed methodology the tool life curves can be predicted from only seven tests.
