Multimedia and Internet - New Challenges in Media Didactic
Abstract - Media education (Germ. Mediendidaktik, Didaktik der Medien) is an educational scientific discipline which deals with the didactic formation of teaching media and the factors that go along with the application of modern communication media in the teaching process. Multimedia, as an immanent feature of modern communication media and of the modern teaching process, represents an important field of study for educational scientists. Experts on teaching and the teaching media appear with increasing frequency in teams preparing educational multimedia software. Teams consisting of experts on computer science, specialists from scientific areas for which a particular kind of software is prepared (eg biologists, chemists, physicists, etc.) as well as experts for teaching and learning will prepare software of better quality. The most important factors to be considered when preparing the software are the aims of learning, the nature of the content of learning, the didactic conditions needed for the application of new media as well as the possibilities and advantages of singular media appearing in multimedia presentation.
