Od sekvencije do konformacije proteina. I
The primary, secondary and tertiary structure of proteins is considered Proteins are important biopolymers which arise from the amino acid polymerization pro- cess. It is emphasized that the structure of proteins determines their properties This is the reason why the knowledge of the protein structure is so vital as information about proteins A brief summary about the present knowledge of protein folding is given. Protein folding is an essential step in the formation of the final spatial structure of proteins Three main groups of proteins are mentioned: soluble proteins, membrane proteins and fibrous proteins However, only soluble proteins (part I) are discussed. A detailed account of the theoretical methods for the prediction of the secondary structure of soluble proteins is given.
