Experimental and Theoretical Analysis of the Composite Iinsulator
This paper presents experimetal and theoretical analysis of the composite insulator ADE-10- 123 with AlMgSi1 botton and top flanges. Testing was performed in accordance with the norm IEC 61462 (Cantilever Bending Test). Experimentally obtained results (strains and deflections), predictions and requirements, and to determine the capability of the structure to take over the design load. Numerical analysis of the composite insulator was conducted using Sofistik programme package. FE simulation of deflections and normal stresses (longitudinal direction) for maximal test loading.
