Asymmertic membrane formation. Is the evaporation step necessary?

In order to shed more light on the role and necessity of the solvent evaporation step the experiments comparing performances of the membranes made with the evaporation step and corresponding membranes prepared without it, have been carried out. The results have shown that the evaporation step improves the membrane performance and slightly decreases the reproducibility of the preparation method.
