Numerical and Experimental Beam Analysis

In this paper numerical and experimental method for determining modal properties of free-free beam are presented and compared. Finite element method is used to model beam and to determine dynamic properties numerically. Also, impact test is performed and frequency response function is measured in order to experimentally obtain modal properties. Peak-amplitude method is used to obtain modal properties from measured frequency response function. This method is simple and fast. Results obtained this way are compared with numerical results in order to verify effectiveness of peak amplitude method.
