Strategic development of Croatian Textile & Clohing sector

Scientific research and the effectiveness of transfering the results into goods, services and processes act as key factor in creating a competitive economy and a knowledge based society. The rapid development of science and technology (S & T) and the changes of globalisation make the acquisition of knowledge, its productive application, and its permanent growth a major challenge for competitive economics and society. The prospects for integrating S & T in Croatia into the European Research Area are defined by several strategic documents. These documents foresee radical changes in order to create an effective and stimulating system for S & T based on the EU model. One of the main ideas of Croatian strategic development is to broaden the knowledge of our researchers and to increase their quality. Further reinforcement would be expanding the existing research links or forming the new ones, with the selected centres which are chosen for their excellence and respectable experience in the textile/clothing (T/C) sector. Faculty of Textile Technology (TTF), as a single scientific institution in the textile, clothing and footwear field in the Republic of Croatia, will join the forces in the process of strategic transformation with the most relevant Croatian institutions such as: Ministry of Science, Education and Sports ; Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, Croatian Chamber of Economy and Croatian Employers' Association and jointly work on new initiatives, projects and clusters. Faculty of Textile Technology is open for the further cooperation with the SMEs with the aim to reinforce the cooperation in the framework of new research and development (R&D) projects but also to repress the existing technological problems. Working together on joint projects with the industrial partners from all over the world we can contribute to the economy based society and jointly enter either the European Research Area (ERA) or the transnational one.
