Magnetically nonlinear three-phase dynamic model of a permanent magnet machine composed of elementary phase windings

This work presents a general magnetically nonlinear three-phase dynamic model of permanent magnet machine. The model is composed of elementary phase windings. The voltage balance in each individual phase winding is given as a function of back-emf and magnetic couplings among individual phase windings that depend on magnetic conditions in the machine’ s iron core. In this way, any connection of the phase windings and any type of voltage supply can be used. The obtained dynamic model is suitable for analysis of permanent magnet synchronous - and brushless DC machines as well as for simulations of transients in electric circuits.
