Review of: Birner, Betty J.. Gregory Ward, eds. 2006. Drawing the boundaries of meaning: Neo-Gricean studies in pragmatics and semantics in honor of Laurence R. Horn
The volume under review is a Liber Amicorum honouring Laurence R. Horn on the occasion of his 60th birthday (which was in 2005). A short introduction by the editors is followed by a set of eighteen papers that demonstrate current work on the boundary between semantics and pragmatics from a neo-Gricean perspective. All the papers in the volume deal with the interface between grammar, semantics, and pragmatics in one way or another, reflection on which is a constant theme in L.R. Horn’ s work.
