Calculation of torque ripple in permanent magnet DC motor
The electromagnetic torque ripple was calculated from the change of magnetic vector potentials at moving conductors of a DC motor with permanent magnets. Numerical derivations diminishing the accuracy in the torque calculations were avoided. The higher accuracy of field calculations was achieved using the finite element procedure based on Gauss’ s points. The values of electromagnetic torque at instant rotor positions were calculated. The results were compared to those obtained by the Maxwell method and commonly used numerical procedure.
