Relations between happiness-increasing strategies, personality traits and happiness in Croatian youth
The main goal of this study was to explore the relationship between happiness-increasing strategies, personality traits and happiness level in 573 undergraduate students. The participants completed self-report measures assessing their happiness increasing strategies, happiness, and personality traits. The results showed that females are generally happier than males, and that they use almost all happiness-increasing strategies more often. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses revealed that extraversion and emotional stability, and in the second analysis, four of eight examined happiness-increasing strategies were significant predictors of happiness. In addition, after controlling for students’ individual characteristics, happiness-increasing strategies were significant predictors of happiness
