Flight Crew Licensing Regulation Regarding Medical Requirements in Croatia
The current period in Croatia is marked by setting the foundations of the national aviation, that apart from recovery of the war damage and reconstruction of the air traffic infrastructure includes defining of compatible aviation regulations. Although Croatia has joined the membership of ICAO and ECAC (1992) and EUROCONTROL (1997), the full reintegration into the international air traffic system is stipulated by co-ordination (adoption) of the aviation regulations with the international ones, especially with the European system of JAA standards. After defining the basic regulations Air Traffic Act (october 1998), a number of subordinate legislative regulations need to be developed, that will insure the implementation of the demanding international standards. The prior regulations apply to the conditions of flight crew licensing which also include medical requirements. The content of this paper is oriented to comparison analysis of the current global (ICAO Annex 1) and international (FAR and JAR) licensing standards regarding medical requirements and conceptual guidlines for the preparation of the national regulation of flight crew medical requirements.
