Time-harmonic and transient linear circuit analysis using finite element technique

This paper proposes a new and non-traditional approach for time-harmonic and transient linear electrical circuit analysis. The numerical algorithm proposed in this paper is based on a finite element technique (FET). According to FET terminology, each branch of the electric circuit is treated as a single finite element with own local system of algebraic equations. Global system of equations is obtained by assembling local system of equations of each finite element according to FET procedure. In order to validate presented procedure, a MATLAB program was developed and applied for the transient linear circuit analysis on the linear electrical circuit example.
