The System Of Ergo-Assessment Factors Of The Locomotive Drivers Working Environment
The cumulative effect on the engine driver while operating the locomotive has been caused by several factors of disturbances, which act simultaneously in the traffic environment resulting thus in the reduction of reliability and safety of the engine drivers actions. This does not depend only on the individual endurance of the engine driver, but rather also on the type of the locomotive or the motor set operated by the engine driver. It depends also on whether the traffic refers to the transport of passengers and/or goods or to the shunting procedures. After having interviewed the traction instructors, a survey was formed which included a target group of thirty-one respondents who in practice operate all types of locomotives and railcars. All the respondents with secondary school qualifications for locomotive drivers have also passed the professional exam and are licensed for all types of locomotives and railcars. By comparing the intensity and scope of subjective disturbances for the cases of operating different types of locomotives or motor sets, the cognitive ergo assessment has been realized by surveying the intensity of subjective experience of the following characteristic ergo-assessment factors in the target group of respondents during their work: visibility from the locomotive drivers cab, level of difficulty of control, intensity of disturbance caused by audible traffic noise in the drivers cab, and the intensity of total psychophysical effort. The recent cognitive approach to efficient research is necessary because of obtaining fast insight into the structure of systems of simultaneous factors of ergo assessment and fast detection of dominant factors of ergo assessment of the target group of respondents, as well as the knowledge about the types of locomotives and motor sets in which the intensity and the volume of environmental impact on the engine drivers activities are the highest.
