Female students’ opinions about the course kinesiological education with regard to their participation in physical activity

Obesity is one of the most spread diseases of modern man, the causes of which are an insufficient level of physical activity, irregular diet, genetic factors, lifestyle, stress and others. The obesity problem is given great attention, from kindergarten age to university student age. Organised kinesiological education classes at university level represent the final step in systematic exercise as part of institutionalized education. The goal of kinesiological education is to make physical exercise become and remain a person's permanent property and everyday need. The aim of the research was to establish to which extent the body mass index (BMI) of female students influences their physical activity. The survey included a total number of 152 female students in the first and second year of study at the Faculty of Teacher Education – Branch Čakovec. Distributions, frequencies and percentages were calculated from the obtained information.
