Overview of changes in motor abilities of pre- school children included in sports programs
The lack of motor activity in pre-school age will not have harmful consequences only for the development of children's knowledge and abilities but also for their health. Adults transfer their way of living onto their children, and therefore children most often do not have the conditions for meeting their basic authentic needs for movement and game within own families. In this respect, kindergarten takes over a significant role in children's education. In this paper we have investigated the influence of a nine-month-long sports program (four times a week for 50-60 minutes) on the changes in motor abilities of four-year- old children. The sample consisted of four- year-old children of both sexes where the experimental group consisted of 57 children and control group of 39 children. The results have shown that the sports program had contributed to the differences at the level of all the investigated motor abilities to the benefit of the experimental group.
