Prediction of soil pH changes as influenced by different liming rates

The aim of this paper was to compare impact of liming on soil pH in field conditions with rapid incubation method and computer model for prediction of liming impact on soil pH. Used computer model was based on soil pH and hydrolytic acidity as major soil properties. Predicted pH showed significant correlation with pH values obtained in a rapid incubation laboratory method (r=0, 903). Correlation coefficient between predicted soil pH and measured pH in field conditions was r=0, 790. The mean difference between soil pH results in filed conditions and results determined by laboratory incubation method was 0, 58 pH units.
