Simulation Method and Propulsion PlantT Simulator
It is not always possible to note the effects of a damage on a part of the vessel˘s electric system-net in normal work conditions. Certain damages are rare so their effects are rarely noted. That is the reason of simulating certain damage effects by computers. The best way to acquire practical experience is to learn from real life in a real time, but today the efficiency requirements do not allow for this kind of onboard education. Paper illustrates the use of the asynchronous machine on a 3 HP 220 V industrial motor and also the propulsion plant simulator and its various applications will be discussed in this paper. This paper deals with some actual aspects of using the modern teaching aids - simulators for education and training of officers. The methodical approach is particularly to explain the application of simulators of sophisticated ship˘s systems and optimization of the practical training of the students creating the scenarios in accordance with STCW.
