An Intersection Method for Improved Image Retrieval

Image parameters which were obtained using multiscale decomposition with Gabor filters, can be used for retrieval of images of similar textures. This approach has been often used in texture-based image retrieval systems, but we used it for the image retrieval in a heads-database. We show that the performance of this method can be enhanced if the parameters are defined for various parts of the images and than taking their intersection.
