Generalized approach to entropy determination in heavy-ion collisions

Assuming the uniformly distributed nucleons in configuration space at the time of freeze out, we propose the way for a unique cell-size determination in momentum space. Then, using the nucleon occupation probability function in momentum space, we determine the values of generalized entropy for the Au + AU reaction at incident energies of 150, 250, and 400 A MeV. The data have been obtained with the FOPI facility at SISIGSI, Darmstadt. Central collisions have been selected by a proper cut of the ERAT observable defined as the ratio of the transverse to the longitudinal kinetic energies of the fragments in the center-of-mass forward hemisphere. The extracted values of entropy per nucleon are in good agreement with the values obtained in earlier FOPI Collaboration studies.
