Measuring relevant acoustical properties of small spaces

The subjective impressions of the room acoustic varies from one space to the another, and it is very difficult to make comparison on this base. Keeping this in mind we have tried to find relevant objective, i.e. measurable parameters that make the main influence upon acoustics of small spaces. All measured parameters, as well as measuring methods that represents one method for the estimation of the acoustical quality of spaces, have been briefly explained and discussed. Described method relies on measuring basic acoustical parameters, and it was set after a sequence of measurements that authors have done during theirs work. The chosen parameters gave us evaluation of acoustical properties, background noise and sound isolation, and when it is needed, the evaluation of electroacoustical system (monitor loudspeakers, PA system, etc.)
