Conceptual Model of Croatian Tourist Product e-Marketplace

As the result of rapid evolution of digital technology we witness the new figure of doing business, which takes place in the virtual environment. In recent 20 years we have reached from primitively figures of trading documents using telematic units to use of e-Market. At present days the existence of every economic subject and their entire economic branch, depends on the efficiency with which they are becoming integrated in current technology trends. So with the expansion of general information literacy, also grows the e-Commerce’ s share in overall exchange relations. E-Market shows its additional advantages over the standard way of doing business in global exchange relations because trade in virtual surrounding has no temporal and spatial restrictions. Since tourism represents a global phenomenon and Croatian tourist product is concentrated on the global market, necessity of creating organized Croatian tourist product e-Market is important as an urgent solution in providing competitiveness of Croatian tourism on the world market. In recent years Croatia has became world-famous as a desirable destination, but the only way for the Croatian tourist product to be able to reach the good customers, beside its own quality, is to ensure accessibility for every potential guest it can reach. Along with existing promotion efforts and individual concepts of e-Commerce, it is required that an organized market of tourist products is built in Croatia, which will benefit not only the well known potential of country’ s coastal region, but also the complete tourist offer, especially the less famous but very attractive continental tourist resources. Related to this, it is necessary to build a model of tourist e-Market placing Croatian tourist product, which, besides the hardware requests, presumes defining the software and data models which are the subject of the research, results of which are presented in this work. Model defined like this, except its function to provide exchange relations in virtual environment, will also ensure databases for making good analyses in terms of business intelligence.
