Rezultati zaštitnog arheološkog istraživanja antičkih nalazišta na trasi distributivnog plinovoda MRS Pula : MRS 1 nova plinara
Due to construction of the MRS Pula-MRS 1 Nova plinara high-pressure natural gas distribution pipeline, the Archaeological Museum of Istria conducted a reconnaissance of a section of the future pipeline in June 2008. Based on this field reconnaissance, a review of the archives of the Archaeological Museum of Istria, and the relevant archaeological literature, a total of ten possible archaeological and ethnographic sites were found on this section of the pipeline over a length of 3.4 km. Two Antique-era sites were recorded at two sites by means of test excavations. Multiple layers of architecture offer testimony on the construction, reconstruction and possible changes in purpose of these buildings over the course of various eras of their use. Tiny ceramic materials indicate the continuity of life at these sites from the first to sixth centuries AD. The results of the archaeological rescue research of this section of the high-pressure natural gas distribution line supplement the picture of the relatively densely populated ager of Roman-era Pula.
