Book review : A dental treasure chest - tips and tricks for daily practice

This interesting book provides 300 pages of tips for solving common problems encountered every day in the dental office. The book is divided into eight chapters: prosthetic first aid, restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, periodontics, implantology, aesthetic dentistry, orthodontics and ergonomics. In the first chapter the author starts with a description of typical problems in prosthodontics which require urgent management, for example porcelain fracture, complete dentures with insufficient retention, lost abutment teeth, fractured posts etc., and proceeds with detailed photo documentation of each clinical phase of suggested procedure. In the following chapters the problem is also first introduced, and then the chronological and detailed depiction of the suggested procedure is described, through cases from author's personal experience. „ A Dental Treasure Chest tips and tricks for daily practice“ includes something for everyone, no matter whether you are dealing with patient with bruxism that requires occlusal splint fabrication, with efficient placement of rubber dam for adhesive bonding procedures or with urgent immediate implant placement. The book is full of exceptional photos and illustrations that clearly depict almost every step in each problem solving. All procedures are explained and analyzed on the basis of author’ s experience, relevant literature and list of used materials. The true application of tips and tricks displayed in this work can primarily be realized by general dental practitioners. As it has recently been translated in Croatian, this unique book is even more available to Croatian readers.
