Thermal stability of HIPS and HIPS/EVA blends composites
The thermal stability of polymeric materials is studied by thermogravimetric analysis /TGA/. The preparation of high-impact polystyrene /HIPS/ and high impact polystyrene-ethylene vinyl acetate /HIPS/EVA/ blend composites was accomplished with melt blending process snd aluminium hydroxide Al/OH/3, diphenyl-2-ethylhexyl phosphate /DPO/ and anhydrophobic fumed silica Aerosil, SiO2 was used as fillers.From the results higher thermal stability is obtained for the HIPS/EVA composites due to higher concentration of aluminium hydroxide.
