Determination of Vickers Hardness Applying Different Loads

In paper procedure of Vickers hardness measurements applying different loads is described. Measurements were made on referent hardness block with nominal value of hardness 199 HV 10 in the field of macrohardness, semi-microhardness and microhardness with the purpose of different load analysis on measured hardness values. Applied loads (forces) vary in the range from 0, 196 N (measuring method HV 0, 02) to 294, 20 N (measuring method HV 30) while measurements were carried out on two different hardness testers from which one is referent hardness tester. On the basis of carried measurements comparison of measured Vickers hardness on different measuring spots and comparison of measured hardness values and nominal hardness of referent hardness block is carried out. Certain conclusions are brought.
