Regulatory effects of CD4 and CD8+ T lymphocytes on liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy in mice
The consequences of in vivo depletion of CD4+and/or CD8+ T lymphocytes on regenerating liver after partial hepatectomy (pHx) and the effects of pHx on intact and depleted lymphatic tissue were analysed. The results showed that depletion of CD8 and CD4+CD8 T lymphocytes significantly augment the content of RNA and proteins in early phase of regenerating liver. Removal of CD4+CD8 cells translocated also the peak of protein synthesis from 2nd to 1st post-Hx day. On the other hand, pHx stimulated the recovery of CD4+cells in CD4 depleted mice and augmented the proportion of CD8+ cells in both, CD8 and CD4+CD8 depleted mice.
