Taksonomska revizija roda Fumana (Cistaceae) u Hrvatskoj
The genus Fumana (Dunal) Spach is represented by 20 taxa in the Mediterranean flora. These are perennial species, usually growing on dry rocky or sand habitats in garrigues, macchia and rocky grasslands. The aim of this contribution was to perform a taxonomic revision of the genus Fumana on the basis of herbarium investigation of CNHM, ZA, ZAHO and WU, personal and field observations. In Croatian flora, until now, the genus Fumana was represented by five species (F. arabica, F. ericoides, F. laevipes, F. procumbens and F. thymifolia). Taxonomic revision revealed the species F. scoparia Pomel, new to the flora of Croatia. Newly discovered species is morphologically most similar to F. ericoides, from which it differs only in several morphological characters: indumentum, number and position of flowers in the inflorescence, arrangement of leaves on the stem and the size of the capsule. Due to the morphological similarities, it is most likely that the newly discovered species was mistaken for the species F. ericoides. From ecological point of view, F. ericoides has wider ecological amplitude ; it grows from the sea level up to mountain regions, while F. scoparia grows in dry costal habitats. Following herbarium revision of the genus Fumana, all localities were geocoded in Flora Croatica Database, and distribution maps for all species were made. For the species F. scoparia, iconography was made. On the basis of morphological characters of all species, the determination key was done.
