Fault Distance Estimation in Unearthed Distribution Network by Using Wavelet Transform

The subject of this work is analyzing of possibilities of fault location, especially single phase fault location, in distribution network with unearthed neutral point by using traveling waves. It is observed distribution network with mainly overhead sections. Fault induced high frequency components are extracted by using discrete wavelet transform. Voltage signals in the sending end of considered distribution feeder are used for processing.
