What is Folklore - French Quadrille, Slovenian Idea, European Matriculation Parade or Winning of the Guiness World Record?
On the example of the matriculation dance and the performance of the Quadrille in the context of the European Dance Parade under the umbrella of the Guiness World Records we could discuss about all three mentioned main thematic areas of this Symposium. Whose folklore is contemporary Quadrille and does the borders exist ; how is it performed in a contemporary context ; who are the dance teachers ; are the matriculation pupils the bearers of this tradition ; why and how does the dance of French and European aristocracy from the middle or from the end of 19th century become popular among the matriculation pupils in 21st century ; what makes it attractive and interesting to pupils and teachers ; what strategies do they use in teaching or learning processes ; how could local or individual interests become visible and how does the intellectual property become important ; how this relations effect on a broader regional context ; or how the Quadrille Dance Parade became the European Quadrille Dance Festival?
