Influence of Round-Off Errors on Numerical Computation Accuracy

The paper deals with the sensitivity analysis of numerical models of civil engineering structures in relation to the round-off error, which represents an unavoidable part of numerical model creation and calculation. Benchmark examples presented in this study have a closed form analytical solution, which allows for the round-off error to be determined exactly and in turn serves as a basis for comparison of the exact and theoretically estimated errors.
