Numerical procedure basic concept of cold rolling process
Numerical analysis of cold rolling process of thin plates using finite element method as a plane strain problem is solved. Large strain elastoplastic updated Lagrangian Hencky formulation was used. Material and geometrical non-linearities are included in analysis. Mixed formulation of finite element method based on "displacement-pressure" variables for the description of the material incompressibility is used. Friction on the contact surface between rolls and plate by friction layer technique is simulated. Above both mentioned formulations and technique were used to develop software named ROLLING for numerical analysis of cold rolling of different metals. Efficiency of used formulation is validated by comparison of obtained results with known experimental investigation as well as other available numerical results.
