DEVELOPMENT OF A MILLING TESTBED PLATFORM WITH OPEN ARCHITECTURE CONTROLLER

This paper presents a short overview of the project for bench-top mini milling testbed platform development. Since it is intended to be used for research, as well as educational purposes, a Linux based CNC open architecture control system (OAC) was implemented. The characteristics of chosen OAC solution, testbed structure, and implementation details are briefly depicted. Finally, main conclusions and future research work are summarized.
