Profil intrinzično motivitiranih studenata:ljubav prema učenju, životni ciljevi i dobrobit
In recent years lifelong learning has become a fundamental goal of education policies. It is often advocated as a way to achieve socio-economic development and as a tool to promote the ‘information’ and ‘knowledge based’ society. But lifelong learning is impossible without intrinsic motivation for learning. Lifelong learners have an instinctive desire to understand, to find out about new things, to affirm their thoughts about the old, to remain current. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between intrinsic motivation for learning as human strength and other human strengths (according to VIA classification of human strengths), life aspirations and well-being. Three questionnaires Values in Action Inventory of Strengths, Aspiration Index and Satisfaction With Life Scale were administered to 381 college students. Intrinsic learning was positively related to curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, perseverance, leadership ability, respect for excellence and vitality. In addition path analysis revealed that intrinsic aspirations were positively related to love for learning, while extrinsic ones were negatively related to it. Intrinsic aspirations were also positively related to life satisfaction, but love for learning and life satisfaction were not related.
