MAG welding process – how to achieve desired weld joint

Like in other welding processes, MAG welding process results depends of number of different influences like base metal type and thickness, welding position, type of filler metal and selection of welding parameters. In this paper, the analysis of weld bead geometry (weld join reinforcement area) at MAG welding process with regard to heat input (depending of weld current, voltage and weld speed) and the type and shielding gas flow is analyzed. Also the comparison of the basic welding costs for selected combination of filler metal and shielding gas is presented.
