In-service teacher’s training in EDC –opportunities and challenges

The main aim of EDC is to prepare informed, participative and responsible citizens for the future of European democratic societies. Apart from clear national implementation policies, succesful inclusion of EDC in schools depends on the quality of teachers' pre-service and in-service preparation. Despite many examples of good practice in number of countries in the region, EDC is still unrecognised as an important dimension in the systems of teacher education and training.
