Ways of Informing, Preferences and Satisfaction of Tourists with Excursion Choices in Rural Istria

There are many motives why people travel: holiday, business, health, education etc. and they are connected to different needs that long to be satisfied. Tourists try to satisfy a wide number of needs simultaneously by gathering as much experiences as they can every time they go on a vacation. The traditional concept in tourism “The sun and the sea” vacation has been undergoing changes in the recent years and other services, beside accommodation and food, are becoming an important part of tourists experience. The main purpose of this paper is to explore ways how tourists gather information about excursions in rural areas, to define the segment of tourists who are interesting in excursions in Istria County rural area and to examine tourists’ satisfaction with this element of tourism offer.
